Through our Education/Outreach Projects, WARC seeks to provide multiple entry points to the arts and build relationships with diverse community groups and school populations. Projects are designed to increase understanding of the creative process as a means to examine social issues and foster the exchange of ideas and pro-active strategies. Our project Youth Leaders Through the Arts - Your Vision, Your Future invites youth to participate in 'Zine Workshops presented at WARC Gallery. The Youth work in teams to research, create and disseminate a 'Zine thematically based upon an issue of concern particular to their community. The workshops train and equip the youth with the skills and resources to then take a leadership role in presenting 'Zine Workshops in their schools and community centres. |
